ExpertBox is online meeting software that includes everything required for individual experts and agencies to provide the best online consultations to clients, from a seamless booking process and secure payment flow to high-quality video conferencing and instant chat messaging.
Challenges
Today, more and more companies and individuals in various domains, from healthcare to education to finance, are providing their services online. Online consultations offer benefits for companies and individual experts, permitting them to work remotely anytime and anywhere while allowing clients to access services fast and with little effort. This has led to growing demand for an all-in-one tool to deliver consultations online.
ExpertBox is a platform that provides companies and individuals with all the essential tools for holding online consultations. Our task was to combine HD video conferencing, convenient scheduling and client management, a secure payment system, and complex chat functionality into a single solution. To support all of this, we needed to build a clear and scalable architecture that would allow for the platform’s growth.
Our team needed to:
- Carry out research and analysis to validate market demand
- Clearly define a value proposition
- Create a fully functional online consulting platform
- Ensure scalability of the platform so it can broadcast a video meeting to as many as 1000 participants in the future
Scheduling
An intuitive scheduling system allows experts to set their availability and lets clients book appointments with experts in several clicks.
Video meetings and chat
Secure high-definition video conferencing with a fully functional chat feature ensures the privacy of information shared between experts and clients.
Client management
ExpertBox makes it convenient for experts to review a list of clients and active appointments so they can efficiently prepare for upcoming meetings.
Video recordings
ExpertBox can record meetings with experts for future use by experts and clients.
Payments
An automated payment process lets clients pay for their bookings and lets experts get paid instantly. In addition, it allows experts to track their spending and earnings.
Solutions
First of all, we started with a careful market analysis to identify problems the target audience needed to solve, competitors, and the features of competitors’ products. We created a lean canvas to break down the idea of ExpertBox into key assumptions.
To build the ExpertBox service, we created a scalable video conferencing tool and combined it with an appointment scheduling system, chat functionality, and automated payment flow. Thus, ExpertBox users don’t need to integrate any third-party services to run their consulting businesses.
We devoted much time and effort to ensuring the product’s stability and security. ExpertBox complies with major laws and regulations, and standards including HIPAA and GDPR.
As ExpertBox is planning to scale to broadcast meetings to up to 1000 participants, we created a well-thought-out architecture to ensure the software’s scalability.
We took the following steps:
- Designed an intuitive user interface to provide an engaging customer experience
- Conducted thorough market research and carried out competitor and feature analysis
- Developed a reliable and secure high-definition video conferencing tool that allows users to conduct meetings from any device
- Introduced a booking widget that’s easily embedded in an expert’s website to allow clients to book appointments
- Built chat functionality that allows users to view message history and appointment details
- Implemented an automated payment flow to let experts accept payments for completed appointments and keep track of earnings
- Included analytics features that allow agencies to track staff productivity and delivery
