Douglas Slemmer, a co-founder of E8 Data, came up with the idea of building a charting tool for traders. E8 Data is a web app that provides traders with unique capabilities for data analysis and knowledge sharing. Douglas reached out to our team with a request to ensure seamless navigation on the E8 Data platform and design comprehensible crypto charts.

Design objectives

After Douglas Slemmer contacted us, we defined the project scope, timeline, and the most vital design objectives. For this project, we needed to:

Develop a user-friendly UI/UX to let traders easily manage dashboards and crypto charts
Design a convenient file manager for storing analytics data and files
Provide a straightforward channel for traders to exchange knowledge

Seamless UI/UX design

A well-structured interface helps to present complex data in an easy to perceive manner.

Convenient file manager

An easy-to-use file manager allows for organizing all necessary information within the app and sharing access to these materials with other users.

Public blogs

A section with educational blogs for traders to easily find and bookmark posts with useful information.

Blog editor panel

A blog editor panel is accessible on every page of the platform so that it's easy for users to create blog posts and share their knowledge with others.

Design solutions

We started the project by developing a library of components to speed up the design process, creating user flows, and designing wireframes and prototypes. Further on the project, we:

Designed an uncluttered interface with only essential elements to visualize complex data simply and transparently
Created My Charts page where traders can organize crypto charts and blog posts in folders and share this data with others.
Designed public blogs to ensure efficient information exchange on the platform and let users learn from others
Developed blog editor panel to facilitate knowledge sharing for subject matter experts

Results

The RubyGarage design team conducted in-depth research of existing trading systems to identify and apply the best design practices. As a result, we created an attractive interface that is simple and straightforward for both experienced traders and those who have just started their journey in trading.
